Blake loved it too!

I was surprised by how much Blake liked it. I forget how big he is getting. He really liked looking at all of the animals, and chasing his big sister around.

Quarry Hill Nature Center Pictures

Kayleigh and Blake looking at the turtles

The fish beg for food. It is really funny to watch. you can buy minnows and feed them if you want.

Isn't she brave! I don't know if I would have done this at her age. She wouldn't smile for the picture though. She wasn't going to take her eye off of him.

Hedgie

Kayleigh’s class pet is “Hedgie” the stuffed Hedge Hog. He is a character in one of Jan Brett’s books. Everyone gets to take a turn taking Hedgie home, then you journal about what you did and bring him back to school. Well Monday was K’s turn and she was so excited about it. She had been waiting what seemed like forever to her for her turn. She was so funny about it. She wanted to take him to the nature center to show them the other animals. We had been talking about going there for a few days. She really wanted to go to the zoo, but it is just to cold. That is one of the things that I miss about Texas. We showed Hedgie the birds, fish, turtles, frogs, and a bunch of other slimy things. He even got to help her hold one of the snakes. What a brave girl, and Hedgehog. Here are a few pictures from our day
